Dangers Of High Cholesterol

While the body needs cholesterol to build healthy cells, too much cholesterol can be dangerous. Having high cholesterol can increase the risk of heart disease, heart attacks and strokes. People can inherit high cholesterol but it can also be as a result of unhealthy life choices. A healthy diet with plenty of exercise can significantly help to reduce high cholesterol.

It also helps to avoid foods with high cholesterol such as red meat and full-fat dairy products. As well as this it is wise to limit your consumption of trans-fats and saturated fat. There are usually no symptoms of high cholesterol. The only way to determine your cholesterol levels is through a blood test.
