    VideoTile used to promote privacy

    Date: 17th May 2011

VideoTile recently partnered with graphic design and branding consultancy 'The Chase' to develop competing video messages for the staff of pharmaceuticals giant Astra Zeneca presented on their intranet sites reaching tens of thousands of employees. The messages were to promote ‘Data Privacy Day’ to their staff and were delivered by a range of animated and video presenter banners reminding staff to be careful about the use of social networking sites so as to protect company information. The messages also promoted the responsible disposal of documents.

The banners were designed to draw attention by surprising viewers when apparently static images burst into life as video presenters were then made to break out of the box and overlap and 'observe' content on the page.

VideoTile called upon years of experience in the video production industry as well as their programming expertise to overcome the rigid constraints of the template on the Astra Zeneca intranet. The videotile team worked closely with Astra Zeneca’s web content professionals to create video objects and associated code that worked perfectly right across Astra Zeneca’s global network.

The Initiative was launched at the same time as a range of posters and e mailers that were also produced by the VideoTile team.

The purpose of Data Privacy Day was to raise awareness and promote privacy education. It is currently celebrated in the United States, Canada, and 27 European countries. Data Privacy Day's educational initiative originally focused on raising awareness among teens and young adults about the importance of protecting the privacy of their personal information online, particularly in the context of social networking. The educational focus has expanded over the past three years to include parents & kids, consumers and businesses.
