Your childhood games are set for a revamp…

Friday, February 25th, 2011

Obviously depending on when you were born will depend on how relevant this post is to you. If, like me you  happened to be growing up in the 90’s then you’ll totally understand where we’re coming from when we say that Pokémon WAS the game to have if you had a Nintendo Game Boy. Naturally there were cards to go with the game just so you could feel like you were actually a part of the Pokémon world.

There were many different games for the Game Boy and then when we saw the release of the Game Boy advance, as you would expect there were yet even more games released for the console. The first games that were released for the Game Boy in Europe were Pokémon Blue and Red. Later there was an enhanced remake released called Pokémon Yellow. These games were the original games that were released for the Game Boy consoles. These were known as the First Generation of games and they introduced everyone to the original 151 species of Pokémon.

As the gaming world evolved, so did the Pokémon games. In 2000, there was two more games released, Pokémon Gold and Pokémon Silver. Again, as the gaming world evolves, so will the Pokémon games and that seems to be the case. As many of you probably know Nintendo have announced that they are going to be releasing their latest handheld games console, the Nintendo 3DS and there’s also new Pokémon games set to be released, the Black and White versions.

As we all know companies and businesses need some sort of a promotional video which will help them to promote their new product, so if you’re in the same boat as Nintendo are with their new Nintendo 3DS then you should maybe have a look into some kind of web video production. There are many different companies out there who can offer you this service but when you decide on who to use, make sure that you get the company’s corporate video production number so that you can easily get through to them to check on the progress of your work.

Twitter Allowed In Court…Video Next?

Tuesday, December 21st, 2010

Tweeting live updates from court has been given permission as of immediate effect after a ruling from the Lord Chief Justice for England and Wales.

Live text-based communication of reporting the case will be allowed as long as the judge believes it will not interfere with the administration of justice.

The guidance covers the use of mobile, e-mail and social media such as Twitter, and internet-enabled laptops.

It follows the prompted journalists who used Twitter at the bail hearing of Wikileaks founder Julian Assange.

PERMISSION GRANTED

The most senior judge in England and Wales Lord Justice Judge’s ruling said: “The use of an unobtrusive, hand-held, virtually silent piece of modern equipment for the purposes of simultaneous reporting of proceedings to the outside world as they unfold in court is unlikely to interfere with the proper administration of justice.”

He made clear that permission would not be given if it in any way might influence witnesses or interfere with the legal process.

CURRENT LAW

Presently, recording sound or images during a court hearing is illegal, but sending text messages has not been.

Use of Twitter in court had been a hot topic because it is publicly broadcasting to readers.

Last week, at the City of Westminster Magistrates’ Court hearing on Mr Assange’s bail application, journalists asked the judge whether they could tweet.

District Judge Howard Riddle said he had no objection and several reporters then proceeded to give regular updates as the hearing unfolded.

However, later in the week at the High Court, Mr Justice Ouseley said Twitter could not be used.

REPORTING FUTURE?

The question is will software video camera be next?

Sky News has been campaigning for video access to courtrooms, for the judiciary to allow the introduction of modern communications methods to make the courts more accessible to the public.

Big names to appear in Chinese promotional video

Friday, August 6th, 2010

A famous Chinese astronaut, a film star and a ping pong champion are among some of the stars to feature in a new promotional video designed to introduce modern China to foreign audiences.

Scheduled for screenings at foreign affairs functions the two-part video is set to be broadcast by international media before the coming National Day celebration in October.

The promotional video director, Gao Xiaolong, told Global Times that the first part of the video concentrates on 50 influential figures across various fields. The second part is a 15-minute segment introduces China’s sustainable development.

The video is almost complete and includes 50 influential figures including Yuan Longping, the ‘father of hybrid rice,’ Yang Liwei, the nation’s first astronaut, Xhang Ziyi, a renowned film star and Deng Yaping, a former world champion in table tennis.

Critics attacked the video ad campaign asking why ordinary citizens wouldn’t be selected for the video. Gao responded by saying that their choice of influential figures would make the video more impressive.

“These figures are all influential in their own fields. Their images will make a strong visual impression,” he said. “There might be filming of ordinary people in the future but as a first step, choosing influential people will be more meaningful and will resonate with foreigners.”

The second part of the video will feature 800 images which will illustrate sustainable development around the country, Zhu Youguang, the project manager said during an interview with China National Radio. (CNR)

One picture shows a fish hawk capturing fish with a voiceover announcer quoting an ancient saying by Mencius, “Don’t dry rivers for fish and don’t burn forests for prey,” to represent the tradition of environmental protection.

A 30 second video titled ‘Made In China’ was shown on CNN last year which many critics described as an attempt by China to show its soft power.

CNR quoted Li Xiangyang, president of the Institute of Asia-Pacific Studies under the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, as saying that “it is time for China to construct a positive image.”

One of the figures in the promotional video, Deng, believes that the video will help improve China’s image overseas.

“It is necessary and beneficial for China to strengthen its publicity,” Deng told the Global Times. “It would be wise to adopt the ways foreign countries promote themselves in order to publicize the changes China has gone through.”

New BlackBerry 6 Teaser Video Released, OS Launch Delayed

Friday, July 16th, 2010

After a much anticipated wait, Blackberry has further delayed the launch of its new operation system BlackBerry OS 6.0. The forecasting indicated new devices may launch as early as June 2010, but so far no BlackBerry 6 platformed devices have seen the light of day.

For the promotional purpose and to keep the hype up, an ‘official’ teaser video has been launched by RIM (Research In Motion) featuring all the new aspects of the Blackberry 6 platform. In the promotional video viewers can see that the user interface has been revamped, what they call a Fluid Interface, along with a new enhanced Media Interface. The touch UI facility which allows people to pinch and zoom is a must in today’s mobile phone world and is still prominent on the Blackberry phone.

The Simultaneous Posting feature comes in super handy for those people who regularly visit social networking sites, allowing people to post on several social networking platforms at once. These social feeds will allow you to track your favourite website updates, which are pretty useful and comes with an easy to manage interface.

The Blackberry Messenger default messenger is also being revamped with many more features and has become an attractive as well as an instant messaging environment.

Blackberry 6 users will also have an enriched web browsing experience complete with a web browser which has been graced with WebKit rendering support.
