Catvertising – Future of the internet or just a hoax?

Tuesday, November 22nd, 2011

There’s something that is apparently sweeping the online world at the minute, and will make up over 90% of internet traffic in 2012. It’s called Catvertising. Something not many of you may have heard of, or perhaps you have.

There are an awful lot of cat videos on YouTube and it’s safe to say that some of them are doing very well. From cats flying round on fans to cats barking, there’s a huge amount of different videos on YouTube for you to choose from.

In this spoof video about catvertising, the company who are promoting it claim to be leading the way when it comes to catvertising and they close the video by asking: “What can cat videos do for your business?”

Well if some of the cat videos that are online are anything to go by then an awful lot, providing they get millions and millions of views. There are a lot of videos on YouTube of animals that do really well and if you were thinking of getting a film production company to help you produce a video, maybe of cats or dogs, to try and grow your company’s reputation online then you need to look no further.

Video Tile have got plenty of experience in making videos that will help promote and grow businesses online. Their video production services are second to none and if you are based in or near the North-West then you’re in luck! Based in Padiham in  Lancashire they are central to big cities such as Preston, Manchester and Liverpool. So don’t hesitate and get in touch with them today!

YouTube pays out over £100k on Viral Videos

Wednesday, November 16th, 2011

If you’re short on money then YouTube could be a great way for you to get some cash.  Or not as they case may be. Not everyone who uploads a video to YouTube will make money from it, only a select few will make anything from YouTube’s Partner Programme.

You can make money from this programme, but it’s not guaranteed to make you lots of money. The YouTube Partnership Programme is basically where you sign up to become a YouTube partner and you get the opportunity to have things like adverts in your videos, thus making you a small fortune.

Unfortunately not just anyone can join up to this. You need to meet certain requirement and fit certain criteria. You must upload videos on a regular basis that get thousands of views on a daily basis. Otherwise there’s no point in YouTube signing you up to this programme.

The whole point of this programme is that you upload a video or two and have these advertisements embedded into your video or put on your channel page. Then any money that makes will be split between yourself and YouTube, but as said earlier it has to be beneficial to YouTube as well otherwise you won’t be getting signed up.

If you do have an idea for a viral video then you should look at getting in touch with a company such Video Tile. With all of the team having expert knowledge on how to produce the highest quality of video, just how you want it you can rest assured that you’re in safe hands.

Anything from a promotional video to web presenters you can get exactly what you need from Video Tile whilst being safe in the knowledge that you are getting a top quality service.

Apple becoming a bit of a phenomenon!

Monday, October 10th, 2011

Apple seem to be everywhere at the minute, for both good and somewhat upsetting reasons. The upsetting reasons are that sadly, Steve Jobs passed away on the 5th of October, and the ex-CEO of Apple has left behind a massive legacy and he has undoubtedly changed the way the world sees and uses technology. He was a great man, and he definitely revolutionised the technology world as we know it!

On a good note, for those of you that don’t know and that apparently don’t have any idea about what’s going on in the world then they have announced their new Apple iPhone 4S and it is set to go on general sale tomorrow. They have also just released their latest iOS update; iOS 5.

They have had plenty of videos up on their YouTube channel to try and promote their new products and boy has it done wonders for them. They announced their new handset and some of the new features that it will come with. One of these that’s captured the minds of many people around the world is Siri. Siri is basically an app that talks to you, so if you’re bored you can have a conversation with your phone!

The video that they put up on their YouTube channel about Siri has reached well over 2,000,000 views. I suppose you could argue that it hasn’t really become a “viral video” as such, but a video of a guy talking to his phone, come on. I’m sure you can see where I’m going with this?

Anyway, if you are looking at producing a video, or even a software video like Apple did for the iOS 5 then you may want to look at getting in touch with one of many different video production companies out there and see what they can do to help you and your business!

Can Dead Island make it a third week at the top?

Wednesday, September 28th, 2011

For anyone out there who isn’t a gamer or who hasn’t been around the internet recently then, Dead Island is a game released by a company called Deep Silver. Although they’re not well known for their games, they will be after this absolute corker!

After being on sale for over four weeks, Dead Island has now been at the top of the gaming charts for more than two weeks it has been at the top of both the gaming charts; the UK Individual Format Charts, and UK Multiformat Charts. That is some feat considering Dead Island has sold more copies than any other game from Deep Silver, put together!

There have been many different zombie based games released in the last few years and many have not lived up to what they were expected to be. The likes of Left 4 Dead and Dead Rising have not quite lived up to the hype that was surrounding them prior to their release. But it seems Dead Island has outshone both of these in terms of game play and the amount of copies sold.

However, Dead Island may not be there for much longer. The end of this week sees the release of the eagerly anticipated FIFA 12. As per every other year there are thousands upon thousands of people buying the game upon its midnight release in the UK and you can almost guarantee that this will see it bound up the gaming charts.

There have been many a hardware and software video released trying to big up the game before its release, and there’s also been a few to try and big up the demo. I somehow doubt that EA have made these videos themselves, they’ve more than likely got in touch with a video production company to help them with their videos.

So this time next week, we will know whether or not Dead Island has managed to stay at the top for a third week.

Beyonce’s Heat perfume ad banned from UK

Friday, November 12th, 2010

Music popstar Beyoncé’s TV advert endorsing her new perfume has been banned from being aired in the UK before 7:30pm; for being too ‘sexually provocative’.

The raunchy promo clip has been deemed inappropriate for children by the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA), before this time.

The ‘Crazy in Love’ singer, who is seen smothering herself in the fragrance ‘Heat’, has been described by the ASA as “unsuitable to be seen by young children”.

In an ASA statement it said: “Beyoncé’s body movements and the camera’s prolonged focus on shots of her dress slipping away to partially expose her breasts created a sexually provocative ad that was unsuitable to be seen by young children.”

It went on: “We considered that the ad should not have been shown before 7.30pm due to the sexually provocative nature of the imagery.”

The Guardian reported that chiefs at the organisation said that they had received a number of complaints from members of the public after it was aired during the middle of the day.

Perfume company Coty UK, which makes the perfume with the wife of Hip hop star Jay-Z, defended the advert, saying it was “intended to reflect the singer Beyoncé’s personal ‘sexy chic’ style.”
